HMO’s have become a bit of a buzzword, and it seems like all investors want to have a HMO in their portfolio right now, in fact EVERY week we are receiving calls and enquiries from investors (usually in London) wanting to buy a HMO with cash ready...
So what does this mean exactly?
It’s hard to say, but we have certainly noticed, more and more HMO property becoming available in Coventry, and one of the matrix we use to measure the value of HMO’s has become skewed, with now over 800 rooms available in Coventry alone, marketed on Spareroom, which is certainly the highest number we have ever seen, especially when you compare it to the fact that the whole of Birmingham only has just over 1,000...
So as per supply and demand, if you were thinking of “offloading” one of your HMO properties, now might be a good time...
